Theme: A New Generation, Forming leaders and building teams


Objectives

a) To form a new generation of key YPD leaders and mentors in countries of Asia and the Pacific

b) To train those leaders and mentors in the see judge act method of leadership formation

c) To provide leadership skills to form new YPD teams.

Participants

Young people interested in and involved in working for development in their own countries

Age range: 16 - 25

Mentors: 25 +

Afternoon

What are the main issues/problems facing young people in Kuala Lumpur (personal)?

Visits to local projects, centres, and groups to learn about young the lives of young Malaysians (local).

Discussion and sharing based on our visits

Representatives of each country to share about the main issues/problems faced by young people in your country

Discussion and sharing on these issues

Learning to judge

Small group sharing about how our faiths and belief systems influence our values.

What does your faith tradition (Muslim/Buddhist/Christian...) have to say?

Afternoon

Guest speaker and facilitator:

How can we can come to an understanding on common values in a multifaith world?

Learning to act

Presentation and activities looking at ways in which we can act
